Communications Supply Corporation (CSC) has launched a new strategic initiative called Secure(it), focused on developing innovative products and solutions for high-assurance facilities, secure network deployments, and information assurance applications. Secure(it) is closely aligned with the Department of Defense's Defense-in-Depth strategy and the increased focus on Information Assurance and cyber-security across both the government and the commercial IT community.

Over the last few years, there has been a dramatic increase in the deployment of secure networks (SIPRNET, JWICS, HSDN, etc.) by the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other federal departments and agencies. In addition, several other high-assurance networks and secure facilities, or SCIFs, have been designed and constructed throughout the state and local government as well as commercial industry for purposes of research & development, systems integration, federal outsourcing, disaster preparedness/recovery, continuity of operations, and emergency management.

CSC has teamed with several industry-leading manufacturers and innovative small-businesses to develop new ground-breaking products and technologies that enhance the deployment, management, protection, and defense of high-assurance networks and facilities. The product solutions in support of this initiative range from structured cabling and connectivity products designed for high assurance network deployments or multiple classification areas. The structured cabling solutions are supported by BELDEN, Berk-Tek & Ortronics, Corning, CommScope, Panduit, Siemon, Superior Modular, Sumitomo and Tyco/AMP Netconnect. Newly developed products and technologies such as the INTERCEPTOR™ Fiber Security System developed by Network Integrity Systems and the new WIREMOLD Secure™ Solutions for Hardened Carrier Protected Distribution System (PDS) requirements, help round out the solutions portfolio. Several other innovative companies have also teamed with CSC to address infrastructure requirements related to critical networks such as Continuity of Operations, modular and scalable SCIF construction, cell phone detection / blocking, and NIAP-certified KVM & optical switches for workstation access to multiple secure networks. Additional manufacturers have already expressed a high-degree of interest in joining the Secure(it) initiative and expanding the solutions set with new products and technologies.
