| Communications Supply Corporation (“CSC”) has reviewed the FAR clause 39.204 which implements Section 508 of the Rehabilitations Act Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility for Person with Disabilities, and has determined that the CSC products included in their GSA Contract GS-35F-4748G are not subject to the Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility standards as set forth at 36 CFR part 1194. The CSC Products are exempt in accordance with FAR 39.204 (d) which states that the requirements in 39.203 do not apply to EIT that “is located in spaces frequented only by service personnel for maintenance, repair or occasional monitoring of equipment.” The CSC Products are passive components that are typically located away from the main offices. The installation and configurations of these Products are performed by CSC service personnel. Once installed, there is no regularly scheduled activity required to monitor or manage these devices. There is minimal activity involved by service personnel to maintain these units and to gather statistics. |
